Peat Pots?

Hello, I am new to winter sowing, as in haven't started yet, but I am going to :)

My question is, I have a lot of 4 inch peat pots, I was wondering if these would be good to do winter sowing in? I also have some 2 inch peat pots.

Has anyone ever used these for winter sowing?

I have never used peat pots for winter sowing, but I never would. I used them for starting in the spring once, and the plants never did well. Finally, I pulled them up half way through July, and the peat pots were as hard as rocks. I threw the extras into my compost, and in the fall they hadn't even begun to decompose.

For wintersowing, I will always use a mix with water-saving granules such as Horta-Sorb in it. Even though our region is famously moist (receiving more annual rainfall than Seattle), I found keeping the wintersown containers moist to be a critical element of success. Once peat pots dry out, they might as well be concrete.
