What to do when the blooms finish?

Orangeville, ON(Zone 4b)

Hi!
This is my first season with lilies in my garden. I have Corrida, America, Toronto, Royal Sunset, Casablanca, and unknown one with buds so big that they could pass for green bananas, lol.
Anyhow, some of them are finishing their show and I just wondered what's next? Do they need to be snipped back a little? I've been breaking off that "thingy" (sorry not sure what it's called....stamen?)that was sticking out of the middle because it just looks odd sticking out like that. I do know to leave as much of the plant as possible to feed the bulb but just want to know what others do for the rest of the season so the plant doesn't look unsightly.

Thank you,
Erynne

I cut the stem just below where the blooms were. I try to leave as much stem as possible. If you have some really tall, unsightly ones, you can take up to one third of the stem without harming the plant.
