My Japanese irises have begun. Some have names and some don't, but they sure are beautiful. I like the ones with 3 falls best. Here are some pics I took tonight at twilight. This is a seedling from a hybridizer-don't know if it's been introduced.
JIs at Boojums
Boojum, amazing shot of Prairie twilight (does it's name proud !) I can't believe how many have opened since Friday. I may have to pop by next weekend to see them in all their glory and you too. Patti
Patti, I'm off to Peter Saxton's in NY on Sat. and prolly Sunday AM but you should come by anyway!
Beautiful pics, boojum! I especially love the unnamed seedling in the first pic.
Boojum, that garden shot is beautiful. You've done a great job there.
Saxtons huh? Take pictures please. I just sent them an order not too long ago. They had quite a few of the older yellow ones I like. Enjoy that trip!

They are so beautiful! I too am partial to the 3-fall types- they are so elegant. That seedling is to die for!
That's why I split it into 2. I have it at both front and back in the rows.
Boojum, your place is beautiful! I saw some other photos on another forum that were gorgeous too. Love the pics from the bottom perspective!

Boojum, I am drooling over your trip to Saratoga Springs. I've never been to Saxton's, but love the area. Great town for used books and Chicken pot pie. Pren and I may drop by your garden for a quick peek on our way to Tanglewood on Sat. I ordered some Siberians, Japanese, and Louisiana Iris on the co-op. You have got me started on what I fear is a real obsession. I planted the gorgeous big droopy white Iris that you gave me. I planted some in Vt and the rest in three locations in Nantucket. What is the name. I forgot. Patti
So glad everyone is enjoying my garden with me! The big TB white's name is Kashmir White. It was hybridized by Sir Michael Foster and introduced after his death (1907) in 1912. Glad you are stopping by. I'll take pics at Saxtons.
Wow! Now I just want to grow some! They are Beautiful!
Beautiful Iris and beautiful garden...Thanks for showing them!
Debbie
Those are absolutely inspiring !! :)
Oh, booj-- once more you've out done yourself! Fabulous pics of your JIs! Love 'em all! t.
Thanks, tabasco. More to go!
Looking forward to them too:) super pictures

Every single one of them is just gorgeous and your overall garden pictures make me so jealous!! Really good job with your photos, from all angles. I love that twilight one, too.
Diane
Ooooooooooooooh, they are all so beautiful Boojum.
I'd be hard pressed to pick a favourite from all of them but 'Nikko' is stunning. The whites are fantastic too!
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful photographs. I've just started growing JI's from seeds and I have so many nice seedlings. Now I can't wait for them to grow to flowering size.
