Can someone tell me how to propagate a yucca plant?
propaging yucca
Yes, those are seed pods but often don't produce seed. Root cuttings are the easiest method of propagation.
I also would like to know the best method of propagating from my mature Yucca (spanish bayonet) which has fallen over and has a few side shoots towards the tip. Should I cut these off and try to root them. Can I section up the mature stem and hope that it would eventually root? Does the stem need to have green buds in order to take successfully? Want the quickest way to large plants possible. Thanks for any ideas.
Roots with a node close or at the surface of the soil should produce another plant. I used a tree saw to cut the Yucca I did the other day. I split the roots with top-growth and roots.
Thanks Growin...I'll give that a go.
