I tried this in the ID forum to no avail, so I thought I'd give it a shot in here. I received this plant as Penstemon whippleanus. Obviously it isn't. The nursery owner that sold it to me said that there had been an error from her seed supplier, and that she had no idea what this was either. Any suggestions would be appreciated because this mystery is now driving me bonkers, and my eyes are glazed from combing through rock garden plant directories. This plant is velvety and delicate, and for scale, it is sitting in a quart pot in this photo.

ID request
That's an easy one; it's Cerastium alpinum var. tomentosum (I say easy as it is native to my area)..it will bloom in spring with white 'snow-in-summer' like flowers. However, it is not invasive like the latter.
Thank you so much, Todd. I was hoping you'd be able to ID this plant. Just a tad different than the Penstemon I was expecting, but a nice little plant for my rockery anyway.
