You may remember I posted a picture of the developing flower stem on my saxifraga longifolia. Well it has exceeded all my expectations, it has been fantastic and is still going strong. This is how it looked on teh 1st of May.
Update on my saxifraga longifolia
How incredible! What energy it must take to produce that! Will the rosette now die?
Yes I've been reliably informed that it will die after flowering. I recently bought a similar one with 3 rosettes :)
omg ... that's amazing! Its just glorious! Thanks for the pic's.

Its so depressing that a plant so lovely will die after it flowers. My 'Tumbling Waters' is elongating rapidly but shows no signs of babies...I'm afraid it will behave like its S. longifolia parent.
Yes it is sad but boy have I enjoyed it while it lasted!
