Looks to me like a Louisianna Iris. Which one, I have no idea.

It does look like a Louisiana iris to me. Can't tell you which one though either... Sorry.

By the way, I just love and enjoy your beautiful daughter!!

Thank you... I love and enjoy her also. This Iris I found on the roadside years ago. Since I have so much shade I don't have iris except for just a very few....but I do love them.

My Dorothea K. Williamson LA looks just like this.

Do La iris needs less sun than the others?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

No. As much sun as possible.

Hmmm...I don't have full sun anywhere. However they don't need as much sun as the bearded...correct?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

I really don't know. All my iris get as much sun as possible. Except versicolors & setosas who get about 5 hrs of sun daily.

I don't know what setosas and versicolors are but 5 hours of sun a day is as much as anything in my garden gets!

LA iris need a minimum of 6 hours sun per day.

Well this blooms in less...but most likely would do much better if it had more.

I have a few under an oak that defy that rule too, =)
