Lily Fungal Disease?

Englishtown, NJ(Zone 6b)

I've been trying to figure out what has infected a few of my Orientals this year and whether or not the bulb is compromised and what I should do. I finally was able to get a number of good pics of it and I am hoping someone can help in positively identifying what it is.

This first pic is the worst of them all.

Thanks,
Mina

This is a pic of the whole stem.
The disease started from the top and is working it's way down.

Extreme closeup of the tip. Notice how it looks like it is rotting.

This is a pic of a different lily in a different bed, with the disease at it's beginning stages.

And just so this picture show isn't all gruesome - Here's my first lily bloom of the season - just popped open this morning!

Hope you guys can help me!

I had 1 Oriental exhibit these symptoms; curious about it's cause as well.

I'm very interested in what others have to say about this!

I had this Red Dutch last year that started yellowing from the bottom and went up, so I contacted the grower and they said it was fungus and to use liquid copper (fungicide). Somewhere I read that if you spray your roses and such for black spot and/or powdery mildew to go ahead and spray your lilies.

Moby,

I'd say it was the beginning of botrytis (sp)
on your lily.

I have a ton of buds with a bud borer inside. Doesn't make me very happy.

Eww.....bummer. That do you think of mvespa's lilies?

I have some lilies that look like yours too Moby, but I know that is different than the lilies I have pictured on this thread since this disease is starting from the top down.
