Hey all, I am originally from Norway, but live in the states. All over Europe, in flower shops you can always find the potted plant "collections", i.e. the container garden for indoors with a variety of plants in them. They are beginning to show up around in US stores, but not as widely used as "we" do. What I am looking for is European website links (no matter what language) that shows these in their glory. How to do it, where , when etc etc.
Vielen dank, Merci, Danku vel, Takk, Gracie, Efaristou...(sorry 'bout the spelling)
Becky
Need some European help here...
Do you mean the ones under a glass dome or similar Bec?
Hi back, no, not the glass domes, (but those are very nice too). I know in Holland in particular you will find containers for sale in the flower shops with a combination of several plants.
Ah, ok, sorry I don't know about those....
Not so sure that we have them here in england Becky, not the sort you're describing anyway, sorrry that it's of not much help to you.
I know them from Germany but didn´t see them in Greece the last years (maybe its too hot for containers on the balcony in summer).
Try to google pictures with "Balkongärten", "Balkonblumen", "Kastenbepflanzung" in the german web...
Thank you that is what I was looking for, for the life of me could I remember what to call it in German.....nor in Dutch! :)
But since I finally get to go home to Norway on Thursday I am taking the camera !!
So, what would the equivalent words be in German for the indoor plants?? Hauspflantzen?
We would call them a 'mixed planter' here, often found in supermarkets but more for patios, often including a dwarf, coloured leaf shrub like a dwarf euonymous, a dwarf fir tree, primrose, heather, tulips or narcissus.

'Patio planter' would be another term

Indoor plants are called "Zimmerpflanzen"
Good luck!
