Cutting is from a 'Sango Kaku' (also known as Coral Bark Maple). It was clipped from the donor tree yesterday. I have prepared a temporary home for it in a 4" planter of Peat Moss. The planter is in 1/2" of standing water to keep it moist. I've read through the first 20 or so pages in the Propaganda Forum, and it seems the only other recommendation would be to dip the end in a root hormone. If you have different advise, or can suggest a reliable root hormone, please educate me.
