A arisaema sikokianum seedling

I started a batch of seeds for NARGS 4 years ago and finally one of them has bloomed.
(I planted three in the garden 2 yrs but there's no sign of them yet. This is the only one
that survived a flood of my greenhouse 1.5 yrs ago).

Plus you have a very nicely variegated form. They are not all that good.
Bravo!

Wow, well done. That's fantastic!

I missed this post earlier today. Wow is right, that is an impressive flower and plant! I'm a bit intimidated about starting these from seed.

Thanks! I did find one of the ones I'd planted outdoors today. I'll try to get a pic of it for
comparison tomorrow. (It was not as nice but did look it is was blooming & more importantly,
alive.)

They didn't seem very difficult at all to germinate when I started some several years ago. Had 5 or 6 going, but they all went on the third winter.

Congrats, Tam!

Thank you Joseph! I actually have one blooming in the garden this year.
The other came up but no bloom.

Tam

I have it in my garden, received it in a plant trade. It produces the nice foliage but no flowers yet. I was told it makes more pronounced leaf variegation in the sun so that was where I planted it...will it flower up more readily in a more shady area?

Very nice, Tammy. Congrats on your success!

THanks Jan.

Joseph - I had the one in the pot in a "shadey" area in my greenhouse
(which is really quite bright - just under a 30% shade cloth.) I have two
outside, both in a shadier area. One bloomed & one did not this year.
Neither bloomed last year. I'm no expert so this is just my limited experience.

Tam

Thanks, Tam, we can compare notes. It seems happy in the open sun but maybe I can lift one of them and move it into a more shady area.

Joseph
