Hi, This is a small Mandevilla that is actually a shrub and not the vine variety. It lasted through the winter, but looks a little 'tired'. Should I cut it back to a nub and see if it rejuvinates? It has healthy new green growth at the end of these long sticks which is why I have hesitated to do anything yet, plus there's new growth sprouting up from the base. Will leaves grow along the side of the sticks again? Please advise, it was such a pretty plant last summer and I'd like to see it green and lush again. Thanks, Christina
What should I do with my Mandevilla?
That appears to be a Dipladenia which will eventually begin to vine. It would benefit from a light pruning and repotting with a good potting soil.
By light pruning, how far down should I cut? I'll try to get it repotted too, thanks.
Light pruning is taking one third of the top growth off.
Since that's where the new growth is, I'll only have sticks left. Is that going to be ok for it?
