Louisiana's are beginning.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Nope, not yet. I like that suggestion, Doss.........let's hope she is at an iris show.

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

I have learned that if you are going to make up something make up something good!

Vs - beautiful photos. I'm glad that your plants finally bloomed.

Mine were turning yellow. Called ICG so I fed them with slow release azalea food. They greened right up. Not enough acid? I planted them in camellia planting mix. Well, the fertilizer worked anyway.

Here's EASTMAN WINDS first thing in the morning.

Really Beautiful.
I have trouble waiting until they are fully open too. Wish I had a little more room when I see Eastman Winds. Here's Flyaway Blues. Maybe they are related? :-)

Oh I LOVE that one Doss!!

Irving, TX(Zone 8a)

I do love that color and the Eastman Winds is beautiful color,..all mine seem to be close to the same color with light variations, but I do see a bud that looks like it may be white, so I am waiting to see what it may be..

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I heard from Twyla and she said that Tazzy's regular computer isn't working right now and that she has a hard time seeing the monitor on her laptop, so she doesn't get on very much right now. It's good to know that she is ok though. :o)

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh, I remember Tazzy complaining about that. Don't know where my head was. Hopefully she'll be up and running soon.

Franklin, NC(Zone 6b)

Oh my I love Louisiana irises. Love all the pictures

Beautiful. Each one more than another. I had one bloom today but the sun cooked it. Do any of you have that problem?

Franklin, NC(Zone 6b)

This one is Voodoo Rite. I would love to trade bearded, siberian, louisiana, or japanese with others. I have approx. 300 named ones. Bought alot of louisianas last year and they are going to bloom this year. They do well in shade, sun, water, or the garden. What more can you ask of a plant.

This one is called "Rhett"

I love that dark purple. Jamacian something won 1st place in our local iris show. Lenton Prayer won for TB. Not many people here grow any Louisanna iris.

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

This is hurricane party. I agree that the purple ones are outstanding. Not many people grow LA's here either. Not many people here grow and iris, to tell you the truth.
Mine are in the ground for the first time this year so I don't have any to trade, although I sure with that I did. Redid all the bearded iris too. Silly to do it at one time.

I will have to get my newest bloom off my camera later but it is almost like your Acadian Miss I believe, so pretty.. and not many people that I have seen that are growing LA's and what a shame, I have totally fallen for these beauty's and mine seem to bloom so much longer than the reg. Iris's that I have and even with all the storms we have had it doesn't seem to harm them any. I am going to have to get some red's and purple to add to the ones I have..

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

This is Gladiator's Gift. I'm about out of LA's now - they are still blooming. I just have one left that I haven't posted and either it's late or it won't bloom this year.

I agree that they are stunning. The one complaint I've heard is that they need to be divided too often. We'll see how they go over this year. Some are already 3 fans and some are 6. Guess you'd say that it's pretty fast! Wish daylilies did that. I could make a mint.

Loving your pictures, doss! I can't wait until I have more room! I'm going to buy up all of the LAs I can get my hands on! LOL!

Laura

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

I love the brightness of Red Velvet Elvis. That's a wow flower!

Laura, you are just like me - I 'need' every flower that I can squash into my garden. LOL You should see the rose garden that I just put in. You can barely walk between the roses!

Very pretty white. You must have a lot of room. There's plenty of space around those LAs.

Irving, TX(Zone 8a)

Not sure what these two are but I love the white..it was getting dark so I will have to wait to get a better shot of the purple..

Really lovely. It's such a pure color.

Franklin, NC(Zone 6b)

Just placed my Japanese iris order. I find that Aitkens is cheaper on their Japanese but Ensata is cheaper on the Siberians. Got to see which one is cheaper on the La's. Doss
you have several that I have got to have.

Shirley

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

I bought all of mine at Iris City Gardens.

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

Doss, my sister and I toured ICG a couple of weeks ago. It was so beautiful. I would love to go back again to see the Japanese iris in bloom.

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

What a fun time. My idea of a little piece of heaven. Were the LA's blooming while you were there?

Irving, TX(Zone 8a)

Doss, I do love the white and some are still in bud so I think they will be blooming for a little while longer..I am planning on adding more this year so I will check out City Garden.

Franklin, NC(Zone 6b)

Doss, I have 3 acres, I'm still digging up grass though. What a job. Got some much needed rain here today. Those La's really needed it.

Rajun Cajun blooming now.
