Does anyone know what tree this nut comes from? It's quite "hairy" with a hard nut casing. Reminds me of a tiny coconut. Found a container of them in our nature conservancy craft room. Thanks!
Identify this nut?
Parajubaeas (Quito Cocos and Bolivian Mountain Cocos) have nuts that more resemble walnuts. Maybe the photos I've seen were ones with the hairy matter removed. You could try planting one.
Those look like adonidia merrillii seeds (christmas palm)
