Hostas Coming in Zone 4

kelly - do you have/plant only one of each variety? Or what?

Oh, guess what?? I have 3 Fire & Ice (they all made it!!) plus one Revolution that came outta nowhere!? But I'm positive that's what it is, I have two more in the hosta bed, so I'll have to move it over there to live with it's family, tee hee. These were the last two to poke out their sleepy heads. I did lose one of the dalmation bellflower or whatever. (I tend to plant in 3s), and one is pretty small, the other one is fine. This is/was evergreen for me, so I already knew that. I was warned at the nursery that she was a little touchy, so no surprise, LOL. I need more Jap painted fern (didn't kill the one I have) and think I'l move my astilbe over there too. I'll post pics in a couple of weeks, when it's ok to cut back the daffs. Thanks for being my enabler, LOL. ;-)

I do have doubles of about 3 cultivars,,,,other than that, all are different. Fire and Ice and Revolution are gorgeous hostas.

I'm going to get a Japanese Painted Fern this year,,,I really like them. Astilbe looks great with hostas. I have a few of those also.

I guess I lied before,,,,forgot, I'm still waiting on 'On Stage',,,,even did a little digging and didn't see anything yet. So, I'm waiting on 2,,,,late sleepers,,,LOL

Kelly- When you said "didn't have any tape for my labeler" what kind of labeler do you have? I am still searching for the 'best' way to label my plants. I have a whole variety of labels and still don't like any of them.

Kelly- It looks like you get a tape, how do you put it in the ground? Or what do youdo with it?

Sorry I had to leave so abruptly, Bill was pulling in the drive from getting me pop "So I can get outside right away",,,LOL didn't want to get caught on the puter,,,LOL

The tape I use comes in a cartridge, is white with black printing and is 1/2" wide. Here is a pic of the markers. I got the label machine and tape at Wal-Mart. The markers I got off of ebay. If you're interested, I ca d-mail you the link to the ebay store I get them from.

'Those are very nice. plese send me the info and where did you get the metal part?

I went to a womans house today that was selling big chunks of hosta for between $3 and $5. She didn't remember the names and I don't know what they are but hopefully will be able to figure them out. I will cut them up and put them in tomorrow.
