April Daily Weather, Showers for flowers......please.
Thanks, guys. I have always like daffodils with yellow petals and an orange trumpet. I think this one is "Fortissimo". They aren't "supposed" to naturalize here, but I have a clump that did.
I like the shoes, too - an interesting way to reuse old shoes that are too worn out to wear or give away.
I would like for other members to try something like these shoes this Spring.
We can share pics later in the season, I'm sure there would be some interesting results.
Maybe I should start a thread on this......

Already eyeing some of my DH's *prize* runners. ;)
Temps even higher now.....we are loving every second of this gorgeous day!!! 25 degree Celsius = 77 degree Fahrenheit Ü
Oh Andy I can't wait to plant a pair of sneakers I got at Goodwill just to use that way. I don't think the H & Cs will work.
That is a pretty daffodill Kelli.

Sidney, when I go to Florida I get what I call bushel basket hair. It gets bigger and bigger and being velcro in nature, I end up using bottles of "No More Tangles" to get it combed. Here in the no humidity area it lays down and behaves itself [mostly].

Love the shoes Andy and great idea. I'm sure I have an old pair to play with. My grape hyacinths are just comming out too.
Rain off and on today for us. Think I'll try to get pictures before this next one rolls in. I hear thunder!
This was a happy accident. I set border iris in circles and filled in with the grape hyacinth. It has spread to every inch of the rock garden. I also had a rabbit nest in it last year. I didn't know till I touched the baby in the nest and he squealed. Then he got out and I had to catch him and put him back. Mama was there watching me.
I must have lazy hair. It does nothing and cannot be made to do anything, regardless of the humidity. For my sister's wedding (several years ago), those of us in the wedding had our hair done in a similar fashion - sort of puffy on top. The hairdresser's ability was severely taxed in trying to get my hair to do anything but lay flat. She did it, but I can't tell you how much hair spray she had to use.
Anyway, it's a partly cloudy day and the temperature is decent.

Andy, that's a beautiful shot, it looks like a piece of jewelry. ~Blooms
My peach looks like that. Pretty aren't they?
Darn pretty flower, I wish I would get to eat the fruit.
The squirrels usually get them long before they are ripe.
Today was Patriots Day in Massachusetts, Marathon Day, too.
The predicted weather was for cool and cloudy.
I left the cold frame closed this morning, the sun came out well before I got home from work.
I almost cooked my babies.
Low was 39, High 59, currently 46 F. Light wind and misting lightly.
Snapped this shot just before sunset.
It wasn't misting then, I used a spray bottle for artistic effect, LOL.

Beautiful picture.
Going to Valdosta, Ga. in the morning. A weeks work at the paper mill there.
Then to Charlotte to finish getting new realtor to sell Mothers house. She will have been gone 3 years, so I am past ready to sell it.
It is beautiful outside and is supposed to stay that way.
Gotta get the car packed.

This wind has kicked up for the last two days and all my tall container plants that I don't have tied down have blown over. (read 6' Cannas). Most of the tall ones are by a tree or the chain link fence. You can't believe how many Bunji cords I use!

Pretty little Zephyranthes atamasco - I never planted this... it just came up last year... and has not only made it thru the year to bloom again but has thrown a sister about 30 inches away. So now there are two plants. hurrah.
A very windy day for us too. Sunny and just warm enough to take my coat off. Of course, then I had to come in and slather on the sun screen. One day I didn't burn, the next day I did. That's how fast the sun changed. The grass is greener than ever after two days of good old lightning!
It's overcast here this morning. There is a Hazardous Weather Warning out for thunderstorms, but they are all going to be north of us, so I have the sprinkler on again. We have a chance of rain tomorrow evening and through Friday. We could sure use it!! It's going to be 87° today.

promised a 70* High this afternoon
No wind so the air is nice and clear again - the mountains looking sharply etched against the skiyline.
Hoping for rain for the Texas folk.
Wind from the north means it is dry and sunny. Although it is windy, it is still very nice out.

Blooms, is Zephyranthes a native wildflower?
Our humidity has been running at about 16-26percent. Ground is dry 2 inches down. Saw a farmer doing the cultivate and disk thingi today amid clouds of dust that looked like the dust bowl senerio.
It is raining now. First time in a long time. We are about 4-5 inches below normal for our area. March was the 2nd driest on record.
The rain is supposed to continue for the next 24 hours. SUre hope it does. The ground here is very fertile, but needs rain.
Wow Andy, do they smell good too? So glad someone is getting rain. It has been so dry here. It sprinkled on me across town tonight.

We are still waiting for the rain.
It was bright and sunny this morning with a low of 33, got cloudy by lunch.
It has not warmed up much, 49 now. Cold east wind off the Atlantic 15 miles away.
Snapped this at my neighbors this AM.
Sidney, Yes they are mildly fragrant. Very short so you gotta get way down, LOL.

Great picture, Andy. Those are huge grape hyacinths!
Here it has been rather dark all day and I guess it could drizzle a little if it really set its mind to it. The orioles have been back for about a week. This year we have two species, hooded and Bullock's.
Lucky you, we are just getting the first sprinkles.
Could it turn to snow? it's down to 41 F
Love those Grape Hyacinths.

Absolutely beautiful day in N.W. Missouri today. Sunny, everything is green and blooming, high in the 70's with light breezes. Picked up some sunburn at a couple of soccer games the kids played this morning. Finding some morels in the timber and enjoying the wildflowers blooming here and there. Have a great weekend everyone.

right-o we were at 36* at 7 in the morning yesterday morning and this afternoon we were at 87* at about 4:30. What a difference 36 hrs can make. at 9 at nine it is still at 67* out there. Must be spring in Moab.
Humidity between 5-10% today.
So far this month we've had a tenth of an inch of rain.
There are no wildflowers this spring.
Got much needed mositure yesterday, planting out starts today.
I'm still waiting for the rain....
We had less than a tenth of an inch so far while western MA, CT and Long Island are under a flood watch.
A cold east wind again today, temps holding in the 40s. Cloudy
I got a couple flats of tomato seedlings potted up this afternoon after a chilly walk with Sarah.
Here is a pic of a dozen + a 4 pack of Beefy Boys and a flat of Better Boys before potting up.

Sun shining, sky clear, wind hasn't come up yet maybe it won't.
It's snowing all over the northern plains!!! The weather station is saying this is not unusual as it happens most every year even into May.

Expected high - 68* [yesterday was 86*]
Right now - 54*

I got a goodly portion of the weed grasses pulled in the lot next door. It's mine - but I still don't know what to do with it. Except to keep the grasses from becoming a fire hazard. ~Blooms
PS - Andy, those are great plants... I use those yogurt cups too.
Blooms, thanks, 3 or 4 more weeks in the warm cold frame and you wont recognize them, then into the ground.
I suspect a warm Spring and a long hot Summer is in store for us this year, just a guess.
