Help identify this plant. Appears to be in the palm family

Florida is supposedly the origin. This picture is a portion of the stalk with the fronds trimmed to about three inches in diameter, the stalk about ten. They were used as table arrangements and resembled a miniture unbrella that had been whipped inside out by high winds. Stalk is slightly smaller diameter that a wooden pencil. This picture is one that is presently rooting by placing the frond portion upside down in water. At some point it is planted outside where it develops into a large bush (four feet high) and three feet across with the stalk and frond drooping/hanging much like a weeping willow.
