Its my second try and nothing seems to sprout, any suggestion? I nicked the seeds and soaked them overnight.
How to... Pavonia?
My Thompson & Morgan Successful Seed Raising phamphlet say that
pavonia takes 30 - 60 days to germinate. It states that it is slow & irregular in its germination. 75 degrees Fahrenheit is optimum temperature. The medium should be peaty. Sow mainly on the surface. Give only 1/16" cover. This seed should not be planted deeply. This plant may be sown most any time of the year.
If what you are growing is Pavonia lasiopetala ...This plant is very heat tolerant and is a recommended plant for San Antonio, Texas. It would also do quite well in a sunny conservatory. Frankford
Ok then, I will be patient and put the seeds under light instead of using Deno method. Thanks a lot!
You could also try a heat mat underneath--I've had good luck with a lot of other plants doing it that way, and if the ideal germination temp is 75 degrees then a little heat may be just what it needs.
