Sterile pots?

I have 2" plastic pots I saved from last year. Do I have to sterilize them somehow before planting in them? Will putting them in the microwave work? Dishwasher? Thanks.

I admit I don't always bother, but I know I'm courting disaster if I don't wash & bleach my pots. A quick swipe through some hot soapy water with bleach will do the trick.

It's possible the pots will distort in the microwave. The bleach in the wash water is better. Jessamine
