Winter lettuce in Houston

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

OK guys I got this camera with an hp grant I wrote (along with a laptop w/notebook and an LCD projector). I'm learning how to use it...took a long time just to snap pics and not video.

Here is some winter lettuce in Houston.

I call this first one the guardian of the lettuce.

And this one a wider shot of the same bed. I don't know how to make any sharpness adjustments or anything yet so you get the "raw" photo.

Another, more mature lettuce bed in another part of the garden.

That looks really nice! What kind of lettuce are you growing?

The first two pics have Great lakes, Buttercrunch, and Green Ice. The plants back behind the first row just got transplanted last weekend.

The last shot has a mix of Buttercrunch, Roamine (Verte Mar), Royal Oak Leaf, Red Sails, and Red Salad Bowl. They were planted around Thanksgiving....have been slowly thinning them out to eat.

That's great. I'm growing (and eating) Oak Leaf, Red Sails, Ruby Red, Prize Head and Buttercrunch.
