Abutilon X suntense (Blue Flowering Maple)

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

How have others propagated the above???

Thank you in advance for your help! It's a really hard plant to find here and I don't want to lose it.

If you learn how to propagate it, put me on your list first for a start. It sounds lovely. Lou

I've recently obtained abutilon cuttings from a friend here at DG that were just stuck in dirt and they rooted just fine. There were several cuttings from different colored abutilon...none of which are the one you are trying to propagate.

Maybe if the plant is big enough you can get a couple cuttings. You can clip off a hardwood stem dip it in hormone and then stick it in dirt. Take another cutting and just leave it in some water. But if the plant isn't big enough....not sure you would want to experiment then.

Here is something I found when I googled Abutilon x suntense

Thank you so much for the link lisamr.....I've kept mine in dappled shade and now, after reading the above, I'll keep it more on the moister side as well next summer. It isn't large enough to do much experimenting with but after reading the information contained in your link I'll certainly be trying to propagate early spring greenwood cuttings.

dispatcher1 if I have luck I'll be contacting you. :)

Lilypond, please keep me postpone on blooming period length. I just bought some Abutilon vitifolium seeds and want to know which one does best with that matter. If yours wins, I will ask for cuttings; if mine wins, I will send you cuttings if you wish so.
