hi, i marked it solved in the id forum as everyone over there thinks its an oak and ive already erased the pics from my computer. pati came thru however and posted the thread above. if anyone has any other thoughts i would appreciate it! debi

I believe it's a Water Oak.
I have one in the back of my yard that's 60' tall and spreads 120'.
Makes the back patio dangerous to walk on with round acorns.
I have Live Oaks in the front. They are much kinder.
