Gardenia - What do gardenia seeds Look like?

Greer, SC(Zone 7b)

I have a few dwarf Gardenias that are really flowering. Do these plants produce seeds or seed pods? If so where would I look? Ive inspected where the dead flower was, but dont see anything.

They may produce seeds but it's rare and they are very hard to harvest.

If you're looking for propagating your plant the best thing to do is take stem-tip cuttings and root them. (It's fairly easy!) Plants started from seed will take often-times 7 yrs to flower; plants from rootings will flower in less than 12 months. (Books state 12-18 months but I've had them flower in 6 months. However, I have a heated g-house.)

Sorry I can't help you more re: the seeds.

Sounds like cuttings are best anyway...Thanks for your help.

Hope to see you around the site!

And yes, cuttings are the way to go for gardenia's (for propagating pariticular varieties).

If you need any help, please feel free to post/ask. Gardenia's are probaby my most favorite flowering shrub! Love em!
