I found some unexpected but welcome little visitors in my garden the other day. I went out to check on this year's new fruit trees and shrubs and noticed some odd little insect looking creatures gathered on my currants and gooseberries. Little blue-purple larva looking guys and orange things that somehow reminded me of a ladybug, but not quite. A couple of adult ladybugs were wandering around too. Of course I know what an adult ladybug looks like, but I didn't know what the other creatures were, so I've been searching on the internet to see if they are some sort of pest. It's a pleasant surprise to discover that the little blue-purple guys are ladybug larvae and the little orange guys are ladybug pupae. I'm really glad that I decided to put in those currants and gooseberries, as the ladybugs really seem to like them, and I always like having ladybugs in my garden.
