Help-Rooting Hydrangea??

I was wondering how to go about rooting hydrangea...Could one just place root hormone and plant up,.or just in water??Time frame period for roots to establish?

It depends on the type as to how long from what I understand. There are several different sites that have various ways of doing it. KimG said she has had good results from just cutting them about 6 to 8 inches from a healthy stem end. Take off the the bottom leaves, dip in rooting hormone and plant in good draining potting soil. Keep moist but not wet, so it will not rot. Some types will also root in water from what I understand. Kim's took a couple of weeks to root and others may take longer. I have rooted several forever pinks and a few other small cuttings. What has beens aid is exactly how I do it.. rooting hormone and put it in a pot. I personally have found that the longer cuttings didn't do as well as the smaller ones and more than 5 inches is too much for me. :)
