My first ever winter squash bloomed today (first female blossom). I hand pollinated it to make sure it developed. I know I planted it late, but please, please tell me it will still make it to maturity, please(my first frost is generally in early Oct.) It is the variety "Buttercup" (and there are some "Lakota" coming in the next few days). I'm so excited, I've never been able to grow them!

First winter squash!!!!!!!!!
I started my seedlings indoors at the end of April, put them out in mid-May, and am just now getting flower buds. Our first frost is around the same time as yours, too. Sounds to me like you're doing just fine. :)

Mine have just barely started setting fruit...
