How do I know when the seeds are ready?

Ocean Springs, MS(Zone 9a)

My sister gave me this lily about 2 years ago. (*OK it was a whole lot smaller then) Anyway, she said it was a french lily. It has yellow blooms and the blooms remiond me of daylilies, but last longer...at least I think they do. There are always so many blooming at one time, it is really hard to tell.

This nice plants blooms early here, like late March or early April. Then puts on these seed pods, which I never noticed until this year.

Now for the question. How do I know when the seed pods are ready for harvesting?

Thanks for all your help.

In most cases, the seeds are not ready until the pod turns brown.

Thank you so much for your response.
