Found an odd one in the bed this morning

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

Went out to check on the flower beds this morning and found what appears to be a double Welsh Poppy, Meconopsis cambrica. All of the others have been the single variety. There is an adjacent planting of the M. c. flora plena orange flowers so it looks like they met and decided to make a double in the yellow. Very interesting. Hope the seed shows something next year.

Very pretty poppy. I love poppies but don't have a lot of luck with them.

Gee man, like wow! they ain't square, they's really hip.LOL
The Welsh Poppies are always pretty, and dependable too. Planted once and they have found a home unlike those testy blue cousins of theirs.

I have never seen anyone who has had with the blue one, they would deserve the great Green Thumb award of the century. Truly a gorgeous plant the poppy irregardless of the color. They seem to volunteer around my garden quite too prolifically sometimes I think.
