We have a couple of apple trees that have these red spots on them. Do they look like normal weathering or is this something to worry about? These are new trees, planted bareroot this spring.
Red spots on apple tree leaves
It would appear to be some type of fungus, possibly the start of cedar rust;

Thanks Farmerdill. I looked at several web sites for information about cedar rust, and the description does not seem to fit -- at least yet! I will keep looking and watch the trees to see if things change.
I contacted the grower about this and he supplied this link

This looks closer to what our trees have and the site has some good links.
