Brown Turkey figgs,in zone 6 or lower

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Has any body got any leaves on theres yet, that was left in the ground over winter?
Mine has set buds but they dry up,check the bark to see if tree was still a live,it still was green.
Don't know why the tree won't leaf out,is it still to early you think?

At first I thought you meant "lower" as in "part of the USA." But, of course you meant "lower numbered zone."

Anyhow, you ought to think about sending your "Brown Turkey" south for the winter.

This was "bare rooted" when I planted it in mid-December.

Hope yours is OK.

Well I hope it's ok too!
It was 10ft tall when I pruned her back to 6ft about middle October and covered her with burlap, for winter, then last of March I noticed her budding and removed the burlap then a coldspell with a little patchy frost came, and killed the buds.
Thinking of sending me south instead!!!

The squirrels have already been at this -- and knocked off a couple of figs. So now I have a Hav-a-heart trap -- and waiting for its return.
