Identify Bachelor Button seedlings

Mystic, CT(Zone 6b)

What do BB seedlings look like? I sowed some but I always get weeds from across the street seeding in my garden. Can someone send me a picture of the ones I want to keep?

I have some, but unfortunately, I let them get a little leggy. The leaves were long and strappy looking. I don't have any pictures.

Thanks for the tip, Smilin32. We get this wild bamboo that seeds in the front garden about now, and I don't want to rip out the BB's by accident.

All my seedlings this year are leggy. I have violas that have stems about 2 inches long and the tops just hang over the side of the peat pellets!

Here are a couple of pics that might help:

Tuttifrutti- Thank you so much! I actually have some of those! Well, at least one. I spotted it today. There are others that only have their first leaves.

Can I move them if they are clustered too close together? How far apart do I move them?

My handy-dandy seed packet says to thin the seedlings when they are 2-3 inches in height, with the final spacing of the plants 6-8 inches apart. :)

Glad I could help! I just love visiting that second link, 'cause there is so much information there.

That is a wonderful link, probably the most useful I've seen on DG and that's saying a lot! - I'll have to go back when I have more time...
