My neighbor has some wonderful grape vines. I would like to get some from her, but neither of us know how to take cuttings of these. Has anyone successfully propigated grape vines?

Best bet would be to wait until the grapevines are dormant. Take cuttings that are at least the diameter of a pencil with 3 or 4 buds each. If you wish, dip the end in rooting hormone, but it's not necessary. Bury 2 of the buds in one gallon cans. Moisten the potting soil and set in a cool frostfree area until the exposed bud or buds start to grow. By that time the cutting should have rooted. Place in a sunny area. You can plant it in your garden when it has developed a good root system.
