I found this terrific site on length of time for seed viability. Don't throw away any seeds until you have read this asonishing chart. I copied it out for future reference.

Now that's a nice little thing to have, gloriag, thank you. Thank Good too for I often don't get around to planting everything every year. Most encouraging, though I still think I will test viability but what an excellent excuse to toss what I don't really covet.
