Someone is sending me some Gardenia Seeds - does anyone know the most successful way to sow them? Also, approx. how long before they germinate?
Germinating Gardenia Seeds
I have never had Gardenia seeds to grow but looked it up. Use a peat based mix. It needs to be acid. It takes 25 to 30 days to germinate at 70 to 75 degrees. Seed should be planted about 1/8 inch deep. Good luck. Al
Is there an internet link for that?
I just found alot of links regarding germination for it. Almost all of them say to use a "peaty" and lime free medium. Could I just use peat moss or should I mix something in with it, and if so, what? I've always used just regular "fine" potting soil but don't think I can for these.
