I sowed some coleus, and they are popping up all over the place. I wanted to know when I should separate them.. is it too early if they just came up yesterday? I posted in the coleus forum, but thought I'd try here, too.
when to transplant
Mosc0022, generally, you should wait for the first true leaves to transplant. The first leaves are cotyledons. When transplanting, loosen the root system from the bottom before attempting to lift the plants. Do not 'pull' on them, and do not handle the stems. Lift by the leaves.... gently.
