Golden Showers

This rose bush gets 2 big blushess every year, and some minor blushes also. Supposed to be a climber but came out tall and very bushy for me. Probably didn't prune it correctly. Doesn't matter - I love it!

Man! I could only hope mine would do that! Mine is one spindly cane, and it has been in the ground for two years. Yours is beautiful!

Golden Showers is a great rose. You do not need to prune it very much. Yours looks very beautiful. You often see them in fronts of houses in the older parts of towns.

There is another one that I have had in the past, that is tough, flowers over a long period of time called Sunny June. A friend of mine has one so I guess I will propagate it this summer.

Oh dear - I'm in big big trouble if golden showers is that bushy of a climber!
I planted one of either site of a 6 ft wide gateway into my rose garden.
My plan was for it to grow over the arbor - I didn't allow for that much spread

Hi Dovey,
I didn't train it at all. It might have been trainable over an arbor if I'd pruned it right. It grew up during a time when I was too busy to do right by it. Luckily, I like the way it is for me here. :-)

It's beautiful, I love the way it looks.
Hopefully (because of where I planted it) I will be able to train mine like you said.
Time will tell
