where to see California wild flowers in bloom

Thank you so very much!! I will now plan a short vacation based out of Northern Cal!! We've been on some very nice hikes already in the Point Reyes area, took a ton of wildflower pics there!

What a fun idea Dick for a day trips!!

We have sooo many Redwoods here in town, and 2 large Lakes, I believe Lake Shabot is a a lot of wonderful hikes thru the Redwoods, and a ton of Native flowers! http://www.ebparks.org/parks/lakechab.htm
We also went North to the Giant Redwoods, fantastic hiking there, I can't wait to go back and take a lot of photos!! I did take a couple hundred pics around Point Reyes, beautiful wild flowers in early April!!!

Stever, Lake Isabella is great, camped there many times.
Yosemite, camping, hiking is unbelievable!
San Gabriel Mountains, so lush, the creeks, and a waterfall, great memories.
Caspers Wilderness Park, spent a lot of time, hiking, camping there! Wonderful place, watch for Mountain Lions.
Joshua Tree National Park, The Cactus, succulents are spectacular, and flowers in bloom to die for.
Death Valley National Park, huge diversity of land, much to see, a naturalist paradise! staying over is a must in one of their 2 hotels!!! This will give you more time for the sights!
Canyon Reserve, very nice.
Anza Borrego, wonderful place, much to apreciate all year long! I love C&S, and wildflowers there.
Don't forget the Point Reyes area, superb for photography, I need to post my many many wildflowers there!

Annie, if u have the chance, go see the Calif. poppies [Antelope Valley] this year. they will be a sight to see this time. i can tell by the growth of Ca. poppies in my yard. the previous years, the poppies growth were only less than a foot high, blooms were only 2-3" wide. this year, the poppies grows to nearly 3' tall, blooms are about 4-6" wide i bet the Antelope Valley Poppies Reservation is an awesome sight to see.

I went to the Poppy Preserve out by Lancaster about 3 weeks ago and it was fantastic. Fields of orange as far as you could see. This seasons rain made a dazzling display of poppies.

Poppies here as far as the eye can see, some neighbors have it instead of a lawn right now!!!! I have so many different colors, it's spectacular!!
I hope they last awhile longer, getting ready to plant more, lol.
