Can strawberries be started from seed? I just bought some California Giant strawberries, and am amazed at how huge they are. I've skinned one and set the seeds to dry. I'm assuming since they're some kind of hybrid they had to have been started from seed anyway...

Strawberry seeds
Hi Stacey, your strawberry seeds will go the way of all hybrids. The new plants will not resemble the parent plant. You might wind up with something that you like but probably not. You would be better off trying to use tissue culture which would give you a clone. That is likely how they did it anyway. Jessamine
starting from seed you may have to wait till the following year to get any fruit.
better off getting plant or plugs ( i think there called ) from a nursury.
