My folks just returned from a month o ftraveling in South America. While in Peru, they had this amazing ice cream made from a fruit called lucuna (or la cunya, or la cuna, or ....??). They said the taste was somewhere between bananas and peaches. We're very curious to find out what this fruit might have been (and then, of course, whether we can grow it here!). I did some web searches with various permutations of possible spellings, but I had no luck. I'm hoping the name / description will ring a bell with somebody here! Thanks.
South American fruit Lacunya? Lucuna?? Help!
the name is lucuma! Now I want to figure out if I can grow it.... :-)
