Crickets in my Garden?

Hixson, TN(Zone 7a)

Will they destroy my Garden?I got them in some mulch I bought and they have seemed to multiplied and are all over the place.

From what I know-they aren't crickets. They will grow up to be those big yellow devastating grasshoppers. I researched them- the grasshopper lays eggs in the soil and about a month ago, they hatched and are eating my shrubs.

Last July I saw them mature and there were so many it looked like the ground was moving. We had just bought the property so we had no idea what was going on. Now I know- get guinea hens!

I can't I live in a rescr neighborhood and we are not allowed to have fouls or livestock.
Any other solution?I have a lot of toads in my yard will they eat them up? If anyone has
a solution that I can do that is enviromentaly friendly. please let me know! ASAP
Thank you all;)

I found the grasshopper link! http://creatures.ifas.ufl.edu/field/amhopper.htm
There is also a "grasshopper granule" that we get at Home Depot.Otherwise there is always good ol' malathion.
