Hi
I am brand new to The Garden, just joined in this last weekend.
I just purchased a "tube" of Abeliophyllum distichum ( it is not a Forsythia, but it's common name is White Forsythia) from Forest Farms. I am use to living by the Coast in California and recently moved to the mountains where it is of course snowing now and freezing temperatures. My thought is that these little guys (2 twigs) would not possibly survive outside now, so I have them in a sunny window. But then I am thinking that if they are suppose to grow in this zone, maybe keeping them in the house isn't a good idea.
Any help is appreciated. By the coast I am a pretty good gardener, but up here I am lost. It's a whole new world. How does one grow in snow?
I'm a new sprout! Abeliophyllum distichum - can I live in?
Just a guess, but I wouldn't plant anything unless it will have time to root in and become established before being exposed to cold weather. I think you are doing the right thing. Keep it alive until spring and then plant.
Welcome to Daves. Hope you are enjoying your time here.
