My Wife The Gardener

She dug the plot on Monday, the soil was rich & fine.
She forgot to thaw out dinner so we went out to dine.
She planted roses Tuesday, she says they are a must,
They really are quite lovely, but she forgot to dust.
On Wednesday it was Butterflies, they opened with the sun,
All blacks and blues and yellows, but the laundry wasn’t done.
The poppies came on Thursday, a bright and cherry red,
I guess she was engrossed, but she never made the bed.
It was dahlias on Friday, in colors she adores,
It never bothered her at all, the crumbs upon the floors.
I hired a maid on Saturday, my week was not complete.
My wife can garden all she wants, the house will now be neat.
It’s nearly lunch time Sunday, but I can’t find the maid.

Oh No! I don’t believe it! She’s out there with a spade!

Lol I love it sounds like my house in the spring and summer. I try to make up for it in the winter. But then you have to dream over all the new things for next year.

so true at my house. LOL

I edited it a bit with our names and I am going to leave it by the coffee maker for my husband tomorrow morning so he gets a chuckle! It's true at our house during the warm months too.

I was sure that poem was about me!

My DH just shook his head & sighed....got that problem here too! Only way to get me to bake & cook & clean & decorate is to freeze the ground hard. Yup. It's that time again.... WINTER!
