I have collected lots of seed heads from my purple dome aster, yellow yarrow and russian sage. My eyesight is not very good for closeup work despite catarac surgery. I am wondering just what the seeds actualy look like. The aster looks like it has a seed with wings. Do I remove the "wings" in order to be able to store successfully? I would love to share these seeds on DG but I'm afraid people will be offended if they are not cleaned properly. Thanks for your help. Susan
Seed Cleaning
Susan, It's great you want to share them. When you offer your seeds..let them know exactly what you said above about your eyesight. Then it's up to them if they want the seed. Therefore they will know in advance and can't be dissappointed :-D
That's a good idea, Kim. Thank you!!
