I have white butterfly ginger, Hedychium coronarium - I just harvested the seeds from one flower - anyone have any experience growing these from seed? Any suggestions? How long do they take to germinate? How long would they take to bloom if grown from seed?
Any help is appreciated.. . .
Thanks,
Onalee
Anyone have experience growing Butterfly Ginger from Seed?
Insert like coin into slot just below moist medium line. Put pot into clear bag. Put in a sunny window. These are really broken sentences.
Thanks! Any idea how long they take for germination or how well they store? I assume it's gonna want some warmth to germinate . .can I save them until spring?

I don't know what it's like in Fla, but here in MD I like starting seed during the fal because I put them on the heating vents to provide that underneath heating.
Most seeds, especially tropicals like Ginger do better with warmth.
Unfortunetly, I have no idea how long they take to germinate but to speed things up, soaking them in water first always helps with my seeds.
ok, thanks for the info!!
