Has anyone ever dug up the tuber type roots of this plant, brought them inside for the winter and planted them in the spring, with success?
Red Runner beans
The vines grow so easily and quickly from the beans it never occurred to me to try.
If you do try this, let us know how it works for you.....................
My scarlett runner beans come back in zone 5 every year......... I've never done anything with them........ in fact they are a little invasive..........
I pulled mine, assuming they were spent (annual).....I'll have to try leaving one next year and see what happens. :-)
rikerbear, I'm with you, I pulled my vines up thinking that in zone 5 they would not make it through the winter. Had no idea there might be a tuber. Donna
