I have the persimmon native to my zone 5 and it germinates from seed.

Oh yeah! We have persimmon trees all over the place around here. It would almost have to come from seed.

Thanks for the feedback....I think I will try my luck with the few seeds I found in a fruit and see what happens...but I also plan on finding a sapling or two next spring to plant..love those persimmon..!
