I was given one of these in a pot by a neighbor who was moving. We don't have our raised beds ready yet and I wondered what is the best way to treat them so they last until spring. Will they be okay in a pot? Do they spread? I'm in Southern California, so no freezing. Never grown berries before, so I'm a real newbie at this.
Thanks for any help.

Fall Gold Raspberries
Cannot tell you about those, but my red raspberries in a fairly shallow pot over-wintered just with some mulch covering here in zone 6b. Makes me think yours will be okay in a pot as long as they get watered occasionally.
Thanks, Darius. It's in a medium sized shallow pot, so your comments make me feel better about it staying there. The berries are very good -- not as tart as those sold in stores around here -- so I'd hate to lose it. My DH doesn't eat them, so a small patch is just fine.
I found a message in the archives about caring for them, but I'm a bit confused about whether I should prune or not, and how to. Will do some more looking.
Kathleen
