I thought this was blue flax and to leave the seed on the plant untill you can pick them. New to seed collecting. If you leave them they go off with a snap and throw the seeds everywhere. Is that the way they are or do I have another plant. They look like the photo an the data base. How do you harvest them.
Blue Flax ??
I have heard of people placing a piece of nylon over the sead heads to collect the seeds that pop. Alstroelomeria (sp?) do that too, so I watch them carefully as they ripen and then pick them and let them dry in pod until they pop in a deep container where air circulates, but they can't get out.
