Does anyone know what happened to my squash. It was doing ok - survived the root borer attack
and then all the leaves mildewed and it still bore for a while and now the mildew has moved to the
pumpkins but it seems to be growing faster than the mold.
In fact it might take over the back yard soon.
Does anyone know what this mold is and what I can do to prevent it next year?
mildewed squash
Sounds like powdery or downy mildew. Can't save infected leaves, but aggressive use of a fungicide wil usually stop the spread. Sodium bicarbonate, copper sulphate or one of the commercial garden funcides will work.
