surrounded by RABBITS

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

LOL I have heard bunnies can be deterred if you have your DH "water the bushes".

Woodland Park, CO(Zone 4b)

Ohh-h, maybe that's the problem...needs to be male species urine???

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

I've also heard the same!!! The same "watering" is suppose to take care of deer, ants, gophers, etc. (But I don't KNOW personally if it works or not.)

Woodland Park, CO(Zone 4b)

should i add this to the honeydoo list???

Bradford, PA(Zone 5a)

LOL, Don't think I could get DH to do that! We live near a busy road! He does, however, water back of the garage and I see the rabbits back there!
Seems I read that old trappers used to "water" the perimeter of their camp to keep varmints out.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

I suppose that could have worked, back in the day, when there were a lot less humans around.

Bradford, PA(Zone 5a)

Yes, I think many, if not most, animals have become somewhat used to humans. That is apparent when bear and mountain lions show up in cities!

Wauconda, IL

Oh...I have been trying to get hubby to water the compost pile forever! he's only shy when I don't want him to be!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Coleus canina is in the PDB (it just didn't bear the colorful names mentioned above; it does now): http://davesgarden.com/pdb/go/76035/

Someone might want to start an entry in Garden Terms with these remedies and recipes. I for one will be trying the egg mixture next spring. (If that doesn't work, I'll be learning how to shoot a .22 - and at the rate the bunnies devour my ornamentals and vegetables, I'm not particularly gun-shy, pardon the pun ;o)

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Surely you don't mean to include "bush watering", do you!?! LOL

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

If it can be couched in clinical terms that aren't merely prurient ;o)

I was referring more to things such as the egg recipe, but actually a list of all known/suspected deterrents isn't a half-bad idea.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Terry, don't give Moby any ideas. Her neighbors are probably still wondering about those "Dormant Naked Ladies" out under her trees....

Bradford, PA(Zone 5a)

Dh could water my compost, it is back of the garage where he likes to "go"! LOL. There seems to be a growing list of deterrents. It would be nice if they were in one place, perhaps with "results"! My shrubs are now sprayed with egg mixture. And I sure hope it works. I went to the neighbors' the other day but they didn't answer the door! I wonder why.
